Meghan Basso is a Senior Vice President at Lockehouse, where she represents both landlords and tenants in the leasing of more than two million square feet of retail space across the San Francisco Bay Area and select markets nationwide. With deep market knowledge and a strong track record of closing complex transactions, Meghan has become a trusted advisor to institutional property owners, regional developers, and national and emerging retailers alike.
Prior to joining Lockehouse, Meghan served as a Director with Newmark’s Retail Services Group, where she specialized in landlord and tenant representation throughout the Bay Area. In that role, she was entrusted with a broad portfolio of institutional-class leasing assignments and national tenant representation accounts, earning a reputation for excellence in new business development, client management, and skilled negotiation on both sides of the table.
As a retail leasing specialist, Meghan partners with her clients to deliver full-service, strategic solutions – from regional and local site selection for expanding retailers to the positioning, marketing, and leasing of new developments, redevelopments, and existing street-front properties on behalf of landlords. While her practice is concentrated in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, her assignments have taken her across the continental United States, giving her a well-rounded perspective on both local market dynamics and national retail trends.
Meghan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis on international markets and relations. She lives in Moraga, California with her husband of sixteen years and their two daughters, and is an avid outdoor enthusiast – enjoying golf, tennis, skiing in the winter, and lake time in the summer.
